Dissafyt first started out as a Clothing Brand, with the goal of running an online store. As the director acquired Web Design as a skill, they saw the opportunity to offer it as a service as well.
The main purpose of this was to create an online store that can integrate different sales channels like social media platforms and search engine shopping. The indirect goal was to increase their reach and improve their presence. It also in-directly helps to increase their credibility as an business.
I was the sole-designer on the project and our responsibilities included research, user interviews, wireframing, prototyping, usability tests. We could take our time with the course but there was deadlines, and some key achievements listed below:
Design research by doing Competitive Analysis, Journey Mapping as well as user interviews to improve the User Experience.
The initial design did not follow the UX Princples we were exposed to later on in the program.
The company is a start-up with a very limited budget. We need to build a website that can be hosted for free, as well as integrate free features until the company can afford to upgrade their plans.
Build Online Store with a maximum of 10 products. The Store should integrate with Facebook Shop, Instagram Shop as well as TikTok.
Integrate a booking system to allow for appointments for Dissafyt Digital
Host the website for free, as well as obtain a free SSL Certificate.
As this a low-budget project. We needed to find the relevant technologies that can bring the cost of hosting the website to virtually nothing.
We used Figma to design the necessary wireframe and illustrations to bring our website to life.
We used HTML and CSS to code the website, and downloaded ready-to-use JavaScript code for certain parts like our testimonial carousel, FAQ accordian and more.
We integrated Google Analytics to help improve our SEO and user experience.
We integrated HubSpot to allow our clients chat to us directly as they need it.
Git + Heroku CLI: We used Git to push website code onto the heroku server where we are able to run tests and improve the user experience systematically
Ecwid - We made use of their Free plan to start the online store and integrate various sales channels, on-demand print services as well as aninternational shipping system. We could use the JavaScript code to embed it into our websites.
We used Setmore to integrate a booking system which can be used freely with only a certain amount of features
There will be a hero page explaining the nature of the website with a CTA to book an appointment with one of the employees.
Functional and easy to use
Have a strong visual identity.
Prioritize your online donation form.
Promote supporter-centric content.
Below you will find the wireframe designed for the landing page for Dissafyt Digital.
It took longer than anticipated to design the website. I did not have a proper project plan in place and that is the main reason why it took as long as it did.
Some key takeaways
The goal for Dissafyt Apparel is to be turned into a Market Place, and Ecwid does not yet have the necessary tools to make that possible. Thus, the next main objective is to generate income in order to afford the WooCommerce or Shopify Marketplace integration. Alternatively is to build an entire new system using the open-source code called Aimeos, a Laravel-based eCommerce library to host the Market place.
For the agency to become more relevant to the industry, they would need to implement a CMS based blog to post relevant content to improve their SEO and to attract visitors.
